　My name is Denny from Multimedia University, Malaysia (Figure 1), and I had the opportunity to complete my internship at Kanagawa University, an experience that has been both meaningful and transformative. As shown in Figure 2 and 3, my internship allowed me to apply my engineering knowledge in a real research environment, working on a project involving human motion detection and tracking using an omnidirectional camera system with YOLO-based machine learning. This experience strengthened my technical abilities while also improving my problem-solving, communication, and analytical skills.

　Throughout my internship, I learned to set up and calibrate fisheye cameras (Figure 4), perform automatic video dewarping (Figure 5), and train human detection models using Roboflow and Google Colab. I gained hands-on experience in handling datasets, improving detection accuracy, and solving practical issues such as lighting changes, distortion, and scene calibration. This helped me understand the complete workflow of a vision-based detection system, from installation to data processing and visualization.

　Working with my supervisor and other researchers taught me the importance of teamwork, academic discipline, and engineering ethics. Regular discussions helped me refine my work and present results more clearly. I also appreciated the flexible working arrangement, which allowed me to manage my own schedule. When I wanted to travel on weekends, I could stay back in the office at night to finish my tasks earlier. This balance made my internship both productive and enjoyable, while also giving me the chance to appreciate Japanese culture.

　Although I was not fluent in Japanese initially, the international center arranged one-on-one Japanese lessons, which helped me adapt better and communicate more confidently. This support made me feel welcomed as an international student.

　Overall, my internship at Kanagawa University strengthened my foundation as a future engineer and researcher. It taught me how to work independently, think critically, and collaborate in a research environment. I am truly grateful for the guidance I received, the cultural experiences I gained, and the opportunity to contribute to meaningful engineering research.
