Yokohama Library
Reading room (B1F~3F)
There are reading rooms at each floor. It is free to use the library materials at any floor. It is not allowed to have a conversation at the reading rooms, except the group study rooms.
Eating is completely banned in the library, but allowed to drink. Please bring inside a beverage only spill proof bottled. (Do not drink around the electronic devices and inside the stacks.)
If you finished to drink, put the beverage back to your belongings.
Group Study Room 1 (B1F)
Group study room 1 is on the first basement floor. You can study and hold discussion. It is available to use your calculator and wireless network. You can use this room without the application.
Refreshment room (B1F)
This room is for the refreshment area and have a communication with your group.
It is available to use the calculator and wireless network at this room.

Audio-visual material room (B1F)
We are providing the following services at Audio-visual material room.
- You can watch DVDs, video and listen to CDs.
- Viewing the microforms in the microform reader corner.
Please search OPAC (Online Public Access Catalog) or choose from the list which are place at the reception board, and fill out the application form, when you would like to use the audio-visual materials. The audio-visual materials cannot be taken outside the library and also you cannot bring your own audio-visual materials to use at this corner.
*Microforms cannot search by OPAC, but use the card catalog in the Audio-visual material room.
Information Literacy Seminar Room (2F)
The room is designed for using databases and holding seminars concerning how to collect information. Schedules for seminars are available on the library website and notice board. Please free feel to ask at the reference counter if you would like to have a lesson.
Group Information Search Room (2F)
Group study and seminars can be held using PCs and projectors (projectors are available for use in the Group Information Search Room only).
They can be used depending on the class hours (prior application is required). And also it is available to use wireless network.
- How to Apply
- Apply at Reference counter (2F). Reservations can be made from one week prior to the day before use. The room can be used for up to two classes at a time. You can apply for an extension (up to 1 class period), if no one has made a reservation after you.
- Usage Hours
- 8:50-21:00 * 9:30-17:30 on Sundays, national holidays and during closures.
- Usage Conditions
- Groups who are eligible for using the library and intend to study. The room cannot be used only for meetings and gatherings.
PC for Digitized Contents Transmission Service (National Diet Library, Japan)
This PC is available to access the “NDL Digital Collections”. The NDL Digital Collections enables library users to search and view a variety of resources (such as books that are difficult to get access because of being out of print or other reasons), collected and stored by the National Diet Library of Japan. Please check below to check the details.
Using wireless network in the library
Rental Notebook PC service is provided to regular students who have MNS account of Kanagawa University. It is only use in the library.
