Entrance gate

The ID card (issued by university) is required to enter in the library. There are cases in which you will not be able to enter in the library, when you are not carry around the ID card. Please touch your ID card on the card reader at the entry gate or show your ID card to front reception staff.
Group reading room 1

Group reading room 1 is on the first basement floor. You can study and hold discussion. The literature books are shelved in this room by open shelf. It is available to use your calculator and wireless network. Please refer the guide “How to use the wireless network.”
Refreshment room

This room is for the refreshment area and information exchange. It is available to use the calculator and wireless network at this room. Please refer the guide “How to use the wireless network.”
Meeting corner

They can be used for group study. (reservation not required) Four electronic black boards are available.
Audiovisual reference room/ Hall

Audiovisual materials stored in the library can be watched and listened. Bringing in and using your own materials are prohibited.
- Audiovisual booth… You can watch DVDs, video and listen to CDs.
- Microform refrence room…Viewing the microforms in the microform reader corner
- Audiovisual reference Hall…Library is planning to have some events and seminars, movie show and library concerts etc.

The circulation desk for borrowing, returning and the reserving the books etc.
Magazine reading room

It is freely to read the latest issues and back numbers which are published this year, university bulletins and newspapers in foreign languages. Journals are on the shelved by foreign journals and Japanese journals and arranged by the topic. The current editions are displayed on the shelves with the cover facing out. Please return to the return cart when you finish to use. It is available to use the calculator and wireless network at this room. Please refer the guide “How to use the wireless network.”
Open-Shelf Reading Room

Japanese books in the fields of humanities, social studies, nature, engineering, the arts, language are stored in open-shelves. There are the corners of newly arrived of book (received during the last month), best sellers and introducing library materials accordance with a various theme.
Exhibition corner

Stored rare books and the other materials are displayed periodically. Detailed exhibitions are listed on the website and more.

Reference counter

The Reference counter provides the following services.List of Main Services.
(1) Library usage information and general consultations concerning the collection of literature and information inquiries.
(2) Receiving and making requests for copies of literature from other universities and institutions and lending and borrowing books from them. (ILL)
(3) Information from other universities and institutions and issuance of a letter of introduction. A letter of introduction is required when going directly to other university libraries.
(4) Information will be provided about the affiliated libraries and any required documents will be issued. (common reading cards of the university libraries in Kanagawa, etc.)
(5) Usage information about various databases.
(6) Reception for use of the group information search room. (Yokohama)
(7) Registration of general members.
Information Literacy Seminar Room

This room is for providing lessons on how to use databases and how to collect the research materials required in the study.
Schedules for seminars are available on the library website and notice board.
Please free feel to ask at the reference counter if you would like to have a lesson.
Reference book Reading Room

Reference books are referred to dictionaries and encyclopedias etc. It is the materials for consulting the things. These reference books are arranged by the topics.
In this area, there is the corner of how-to books for employment and license
Reading Room 2

There is a reading room for free study next to “Reference book Reading Room”. A glass partition is installed in this room, so we can provide a tranquil environment. It will be the perfect place for study.
Group Information Search Room

Group study and a seminar can be held using Notebook PCs and the library materials. Please refer to the page the usage of Group Information Search Room.

New book and Paperback Conner

Japanese and foreign paperbacks and new books are stored in this area. New books published by Iwanami Shoten Publisher, paperbacks published by Kodansha and Collection Que Seis-Je etc. Some of the foreign books are correspond to the advanced edition of extensive reading book. For example, Penguin Books UK. Some of the book publication years are old located in stacks. Please use the OPAC for finding the books.
Reading Room 3~5

There are 3 types of the reading room for studying. Reading Room 3 is the room with a nice view. Reading Room 4 can provide a tranquil environment. Reading Room 5 is turning down the light, so it can be concentrated on studying.
