Building on the six departments and one program in the undergraduate Faculty of Engineering, the graduate school offers five courses: Mechanical Engineering; Electrical, Electronics, and Information Engineering; Applied Chemistry; Industrial Engineering and Management; and Architecture and Building Engineering. There is a large degree of collaboration across these fields, highlighted by activities such as the Kanagawa University Techno Festa. At the same time, the graduate school's researchers actively participate in academic conferences in Japan and worldwide, and engage in activities with state-of-the-art research in mind. The school achieves many outstanding research results by actively pursuing interactions with other universities, research institutions, and corporations

It aims to train engineers who can engage in the research and development of highly competitive technologies in all fields of industry.
To nurture creative research and development capabilities with highly developed international sensibilities, this course offers research and educational instruction in four areas: Electrical Power, Energy and Control Systems Engineering; Electronic Materials, Devices and Quantum Device Engineering; Advanced Ultrasonic and Electromagnetic Engineering; and Communication and Information Engineering. It also emphasizes individual research and participation in domestic and international academic conferences.
