Explore collection
There are some tabs in the online catalog. You can select the material type or the coverage by clicking on the appropriate tab. For example, by clicking on “Bib search”, explore the online catalog (OPAC). You can find the books, the journals or the audio-visual materials which are holding in Kanagawa University Library.
- Use the Online Catalog (OPAC) to search for materials held, books and journals. When the item appears, OPAC shows the location.
- You can reserve the book you want is currently out of loan or locating at other campus library.
- You can request article copies from journals that located at other campus library.（Please refer to ILL Service ）
Discovery Service
Kanagawa University Discovery Service 
(Only for regular students and faculties)
There are many places to search for resources within the library website. Normally, you need to choose each resource you use for research, whether Online catalog (OPAC), digital archive of the journal article and open access repositories etc. You can use “Discovery tab” on the Library homepage to search across various book and article databases simultaneously. Searching for certain topics and provide some advanced searching tips.
However, some databases are not including in Discovery, so you have to search from directly to the content provider’s website. Ex.) The digital archive of the newspaper, The Nikkei (Nikkei Telecom), SciFinder and etc.
Finding the newspaper, article of newspaper
Use this list to find the newspapers or articles of the newspapers. Its shows a frequency of serials, the storage period and the location.
List of Newspapers database 
(only for regular students and faculties)
It is the database for searching digital archive covering of newspapers publishing in Japan and all over the world. The Asahi Shimbun, The Nikkei, The Mainichi Newspaper, The Yomiuri Shimbun and foreign newspapers.

Finding the article of journal
List of electronic journals databases (Only for the regular students and faculties)
This is the tool for finding the articles of journals. Search option includes keywords, title of article, author of article, subject.
- You can download the full text when your desired title appears in the list, if that is the Kanagawa University licensed e-journals or open access journals.
- Please take notes for the article information, title of journal, VLNO, page and publishing year if your desired title is not the Kanagawa University licensed e-journal. Then use the online catalog of our university (OPAC) based on the article information. [Bib Search] allows you to perform a search. Perform your search from the [Bib Search] tab. Searching the journal title, VLNO and confirm its location, you may find the appropriate article.

Finding and reading the electronic resources of Journal and book.
Publication Finder (Only for regular students and faculties)
Looking for a particular journal, newspaper or a book, use “Publication Finder”. It is a tool for access to Kanagawa University licensed e-journals or e-books (exclude some e-books). Search option includes keywords, title, ISSN, ISBN. It can be configured to connect directly to the content website when your desired title appears in the list.
The full text can be viewed. [Do not breach the terms and conditions specified in the license agreements.] It is only available who can understand the conditions of use and licensing restrictions for electronic resources of each publication.

This is the tool for finding the e-books. You can view the full text when your desired title appears in the list, if that is the Kanagawa University licensed e-books.
