Kanagawa University Library is open to the general public for returning our intellectual properties to society. However, it is for paid members only. Please refer our library website for the usage registration procedures of General members. Be sure that person who is belonging to the other university cannot issue the membership cards of general members. Please see below for more information.

Using materials
1. Using books and journals in the library
- It is available to use Kanagawa University Library materials.
- Please use the online catalog (OPAC) for searching the materials.
2. Borrowing
- Maximum Item/ Loan period: 5 items / 2weeks
- You can request to reserve the book that is currently out of loan. Please ask at the circulation desk. (Yokohama Library 1F)
※Book loan service is only available for B and C General members.
3. Photocopy
- You may photocopy the materials in the library within the limitations of the Copyright Law in Japan.
- Please ask at the circulation desk. (Yokohama Library 1F)
4. Reference
- Please visit the Reference desk (Yokohama Library 2F), if you are unable to locate books or unsure how to search for library materials.
- Please feel free to ask the librarians for assistance and consultations about the materials in Kanagawa University Library.
Registration
Please prepare the following documents by the day visiting the library and procedure the registration of general member at the reference desk (Yokohama Library 2F).
1.Documents required for registration

Any government-issued identification which proves your name, address and age.
- Society member: such as a Driver license or a Health Insurance Policy. (Passport cannot be used because of the address does not describe.)
- Kanagawa University junior and senior school students: School ID card
- High school students: High school ID card with the recommendation letter from a principal of your high School. (In any format but an official seal is required.)

- Please submit an ID photo that is 3 by 2.5cm. (Need your upper body shot without wearing a hat.) Instant photo booth is also possible but not to use the photo printed in color.
※ An ID photo is not required if you wish to procedure renewed registration from the previous year

- A/C General Members 500 yen (Kanagawa University-affiliated high school students are no charge.)

- Please bring the membership card of the previous year if you wish to procedure renewed registration.
2.Issuing the membership card
- A membership card will be issued and renewed on the spot after the usage registration procedures are complete. However, we will send General Membership Card by post another day when it takes time to review the certifying the graduation of Kanagawa University. At this situation, we will issue the provisional membership card, so please use this card until General Membership Card will be delivered to you. Be sure that it is unable to check out the book by the provisional membership card. (Only Yokohama Library)
- When the membership card is lost, we will reissue a new card. Please visit the library and bring the any government-issued identification which proves your name, address and age. However, it cost 500 yen to reissue the membership card. Please pay with the stamp.
3.The coverage period
- General Member Card may use from the registration date and valid until every end of March (3/31).
- Please note that these libraries are only accessible by Kanagawa University students before and during the examination period.
- We are planning to have a library refurbishment work that will start around February 2021. During the under construction, it will be unable to use Yokohama library.
4.Registration reception time
- Registration is accepted at the counter (2nd floor in Yokohama).
